Why Do We Fundraise?

The Kenrose Elementary PTO raises funds to provide Kenrose Elementary School (KES) with funding for areas that the Williamson County School Board of Education funding does not support.

The County allots its funding to each school within the district based upon student enrollment and additional factors related to student needs.  Some of those calculations are dictated by State Law.

The end result is, no matter how much more the County would like to provide, each school is given a limited amount of dollars.

PTO funds provided to KES are gifted to the school for specific uses as defined in what is called a ‘restricted letter.'  This letter requires the funds gifted to the school to be placed into a fund from which funds may be distributed for only the designated purpose.

The Schools funding accounts are audited on an annual basis to determine the funds are used only as designated.

How it's done...

Teachers, families and local businesses work together to accomplish these goals by:

  • Build The Nest Fundraising Campaign
  • Family Fun Night
  • Participation in Student Fun/Restaurant Spirit Nights
  • Buying Spirit Wear
  • Shopping at certain local and national retailers

Thanks for all you do to make our school great!
